Personal Profile

Self-employed practitioner at NIHP Durham

When David decided on a career change after a number of years in building construction, it didn’t take him long to choose a new career.

Having always been interested in sport, health and fitness and after qualifying as a running coach in 2000, sports massage seemed the obvious choice alongside gaining qualifications in gym instructor and personal training.

Practicing as a sports massage therapist since qualifying in 2016, David began his journey first as a mobile therapist and then, in 2017, at a practice in Durham working with a wide range of clients.

David also has an interest in the benefits of sports massage for those with a cancer diagnosis and has attended gained a certification in oncology massage.

Everyone can benefit from massage

Sports massage can be of benefit to everyone, whether involved in sport or not. It can help with relaxation when feeling stressed as well as helping with the relief of muscular pain brought about by injury or dysfunction owing to accident or modern day living/ occupation.

For those involved in regular sports activity, regular massage is of great benefit in maintaining the soft tissue in a state that is able to take the rigours of regular training, therefore helping injury prevention.

When faced with injury, sports massage therapy will help with symptomatic pain relief and get you back on track.
