About Me
Hello!
My clinics are held at the Northern Integrative Health Centre, Sacriston, Co Durham and at Wellness Centre, Northallerton, North Yorkshire where I offer face-to-face consultations. Telephone consultations and home visits can also be arranged.
I opened my practice in Richmond, North Yorkshire in 1998 after completing a 4-year training course in Homeopathic Medicine at the Northern College of Homeopathic Medicine, Gateshead. I later qualified in Homeobotanical Therapy, Dru Yoga and the Bowen Technique. I often combine these with Homeopathy to create bespoke packages to help my clients heal in the most effective and expedient way possible.
After 20 years’ nursing experience and over 25 years in private practice I am fortunate to have gained considerable experience in helping people of all ages cope with a wide range of health issues.
If you wish to find out more about how Homeopathy can help you please call for a free, no obligation chat on 07746 799536.

Amanda McAlinden
About Me
Amanda McAlinden has been helping people with back pain, joint and muscles for 10 plus years as a trained UK registered osteopath. In the last 4 years her focus has been moved to pregnant and postpartum women. After experiencing two pregnancies she realized there could be more done for pregnant women when it comes to the physical pains that may come along with the changes in pregnancy. She is passionate about teaching pregnant women to self-manage the back pain they may feel. She wants to help them learn what’s happening to their bodies during this period and what can be done to manage the pain and have an enjoyable pregnancy.

Michelle Bettany
About Me
Hi, I’m Michelle I live in the local area with my husband and 2 sons.
I have been qualified for over 20 years and have been working within the community most of the time. I set up my business 23 years ago providing a high standard of Podiatric care in peoples own homes. This meant that people could stay at home and relax and feel comfortable while receiving treatment.
I am actively improving my skills and knowledge by attending courses to include first aid training.
I have worked in many settings over the years to include residential/care homes, NHS, Private clinics as well as sheltered housing for elderly and disabled.
I love spending time with family and friends and walking my dogs. My time off is mostly spent outdoors, doing yoga which I attend classes in local community and swimming, paddle boarding, walking, or on my bike.
Amanda Proud
About Me
Hi! I’m Amanda and my business is called ‘Gentle Touch Healing & Acupuncture’.
Previous to becoming an acupuncturist, I was a paediatric nurse of almost 10 years based predominantly at the Royal Victoria Infirmary. Although I loved this role, there were a number of personal circumstances that lead me to a change in direction, and in 2016 I graduated from the Northern College of Acupuncture with my degree!
My work and life experience, along with my varied education, has equipped me with a broad spectrum of skills and understanding from both western and eastern practices. This allows me to provide knowledgeable, individualised, holistic care.
I consider myself an acupuncturist who treats a wide variety of mental, emotional and physical conditions, but do have a particular interest in the mind; those suffering from stress, anxiety, low mood and depression.

Malligarani Rangarajan
About Me
After finishing her University study as a basic western Medical Doctor and ophthalmologist, Rani worked for 15 years in India. While clinically treating a number of cases, Rani has kept herself academically updated through many training programmes in the Netherlands and India.
Rani soon found that acupuncturists around the world were focusing on treating certain eye conditions about which mainstream medicine would say: “These are difficult problems, nothing much could be done, as the vision could progressively get worse due to the nature of the disease”.
Realising that there was an opportunity here to help people who were battling with loss of vision, Rani seized the opportunity and trained herself in Ophthalmic Acupuncture, including the latest developments in the field. Eye care has always been her passion.

Claire Barron
About Me
The therapy I offer is person-centred and integrative, which means that I can draw on several approaches, working with you to ensure you are able to find the best way forward.
Our sessions will be tailored to your individual needs. They can be online via video call, or face to face in a private therapy room, in a building I share with other professionals, just outside of Durham.
I offer a free call to discuss what you need and get to know each other prior to starting counselling. I can answer any questions you have and explain next steps and anything else you need to know.
Our first session after that initial call will centre around assessing your current needs, what from your life may have contributed to them, and your hopes for therapy.
